For campers, overlanders, and independent travellers, this is where it all started.
Grassy pitches under shady trees, right on the banks of the Luangwa, with one of the best views in the whole valley — and nothing between you and the bush but canvas.
Because that’s the thing about this stretch of river: the wildlife doesn’t stop at the tree line. Lion tracks turn up meters from tents. Elephant dung shows up on the footpath between the car park and the bar, most mornings. There’s a resident leopard who’ll let you know she’s around after dark — she’s just not that interested in being seen.
Simple, solid, and exactly what you need after a day on the road or in the bush: ablution blocks with hot showers and fresh drinking water, thatched shelters for overlanders and private campers alike, power points, firewood for sale on site, and night watchmen patrolling after dark. When the heat gets too much, the Warthogs Bar and pool are right there.
