Stay in comfort

Wildlife Camp's most private stretch.

Five chalets set back from the main camp, angled onto the water, shaded by some of the biggest trees on the peninsula.

The Luangwa Valley is shaped by its lagoons — old curves of the river, cut off over time, that hold water long after the rest of the bush has dried out. Elephants come down to drink most mornings and again in the late afternoon. Giraffe, puku, and warthog drift through in between. It’s the kind of view that has a way of keeping you in your chair longer than you meant to stay.

It’s still ours, still on the same 296 hectares, but it’s a quieter corner, built for guests who want a little more distance and a little more comfort without leaving the wildlife behind.

Options for every stay

The Chalets

We have five chalets situated in a quiet corner of the camp, overlooking a lagoon area and surrounded by huge shady trees. Parking for your vehicles is available right by the chalets. A combination of rustic and comfortable, they all offer a unique view over the lagoon where wildlife is abundant.

Three twin chalets, one double chalet and one family chalet is nestled in underneath some of the magnificent trees the Luangwa Valley has to offer. There is a self-catering kitchen available and all chalets come standard with a standing fan, mosquito nets, a safe, and tea-and-coffee facilities.

All have a veranda that allows you to relax and unwind, whilst watching the wildlife that is all around

Spend a night under the stars

The Sleepout

Some nights, a roof just gets in the way. The Sleepout is a raised platform on stilts, open to the sky, with nothing between you and the Milky Way but a mosquito net. No walls. No ceiling. Just the sounds of the valley doing what it does after dark — hippos grumbling down at the water, the odd hyena whooping somewhere off in the dark, and more stars than you knew were up there.

It’s not roughing it, though. Below the platform is a private bathroom and an eating area, so you climb the ladder to sleep and everything else is sorted for you at ground level. Dinner first, then up you go.

Out in the bush

On foot, in a vehicle, or just watching from camp.

Wildlife Camp offers a range of safari activities led by the best trained safari guides in Africa.

Conservation

Giving back to the valley.

We’re proud to continue our partnership with WECSZ, Zambia’s longest-standing conservation NGO.

A portion of every night you spend at Wildlife Camp goes directly to WECSZ, helping to engage local communities in environmental and conservation work.

This support takes many forms. Through the Chongololo and Chipembele Conservation Clubs (CCCCZ), along with their associated radio channels, conservation education reaches communities across the region. In collaboration with WWF Zambia, we’ve helped establish four community-led forest management groups in the upper Luangwa catchment, protecting over 3,500 hectares of forest. Our own private peninsula, spanning 296 hectares, is safeguarded by our activities and fisheries team, while our guide training programme offers hands-on internships for the next generation of safari guides. On property, dedicated wildlife conservation buildings further support this ongoing work.
